TRI-STATE NEEDS TO TRI-AGAIN

Tri-State’s member coops and their own members deserve the right to determine their energy future and should not be prohibited from exercising their contractual right to explore cleaner and cheaper energy sources outside of Tri-State. Tri-State’s shady efforts to come under FERC jurisdiction steal member coop’s ability to explore and implement their ratepayers’ desires.

 

Instead, Tri-State is holding coop members hostage in an effort to cover the tracks of past bad deals the company made decades ago and force members to continue to pay for them. 

 

Tri-State’s sneaky maneuvering to side-step state oversight is a clear demonstration that they continue to have no intention of helping the state achieve its renewable energy goals.

While many energy providers are achieving standards of 80% to 100% reduction in carbon emissions over 2005 levels Tri-State is quietly advancing a mere 35% reduction. Despite demands from their coop members to increase this percentage, Tri-State has arrogantly chosen to ignore their members.

 

Tri-State, it’s time to Tri-Again.
